The Travesty

 We've gone off course

in our views of ourselves

in our views of each other, 

of the world, 

and of the other beings

which we share a kinship with

We've lost sight of the magic

the miracle,

the magnitude of 

the splendor

the beauty

&

the

Wonder

 

of the world

through all our travails

we fail to see 

they are born of our

 pettiness

bitterness

shallowness

and 

greediness

while the natural world

becomes a triviality

and life is subjected to our

absolute tyranny

and the

terror we unleash

upon many lives

an utter and absolute 

travesty. 

We've forgotten 

how to be

kind 

to ourselves

to each other

kind to other

creatures

and

kind to 

our planet

It's a pity

we have cast our eyes into the illusion 

the illusion of separation

the psychological neurosis

gives way to psychosis

and we tear what was once 

good 

and right

asunder

We've lost our way

but there is a way back...

That requires a fundamental shift 

of sight.

All while decreasing our habit to fight

and turn from the darkness 

to the light.
